This year we have welcomed the lovely Sarah Cox, Sarah is a Veterinary Medicine student at the University of Cambridge and is carrying out some valuable research on our Telemedicine Hospital.
During the eight-week internship, Sarah will be working with our Telemedicine Hospital Directors to explore the impact of telemedicine mentorship on professional development and stress reduction for veterinary surgeons and the resultant retention levels within the veterinary profession.
We asked Sarah, why she choose VetCT and about her experience so far:
“I heard about VetCT through St John’s College and was amazed to find a multinational veterinary telemedicine company based within Cambridge! I applied for the internship because throughout my course so far, I have become aware of how stressful being a veterinary surgeon can be for many different reasons. The opportunity to spend a summer exploring innovative ways that this could be reduced is great, and I knew that I could learn a lot from working with people keen to tackle this issue. I hope that the work I do this summer will be able to have a positive impact within the clinic, for both veterinary surgeons and for the patients that the profession cares for.
In my first week, I have been undertaking some research into the profession, presenting this to my colleagues. I have felt well-supported by a fantastic team in the office, who are always around to give advice. It has been exciting to see how the company functions day to day to deliver such an interesting and complex service globally, and I am already learning new skills. I have already found out so much about both the project and the company and I am keen to see what the next weeks will hold.”
We are so excited to have Sarah with us for the coming weeks and If you are looking for an Internship, VetCT can offer various projects available for candidates with different areas of interest. Please do get in touch by emailing email@example.com.
